Residential Wireman

Job Summary:

Installing electrical wiring, light fixtures, overseeing apprentices, using tools such as power tools and hand tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains active Colorado Residential Wireman License.
  • Layout and installation of electrical wiring, fixtures, and devices in accordance with construction documents, local and national codes.
  • Inspect and test all components of job build as well as existing components repair or replace as needed.
  • Ability and knowledge using testing devices, such as ohmmeter, voltmeter, and phase rotation detectors.
  • Fill out time sheets, foreman reports, and work orders.
  • Redline prints.
  • Use of ladders to install or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Directs and trains workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Install entire systems from start to finish with the ability to troubleshoot any system problems.
  • Work directly with project managers, superintendents, foreman, and other trade personnel to maintain an orderly and productive jobsite.

Knowledge of:

  • Wiring systems and how to perform all phases of project installation.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Scheduling.
  • Tools, tool uses, and tool safety.
  • Basic mathematics such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions.
  • National electrical code.
  • Safety and OSHA standards.

Skills in:

  • Communication.

  • Managing others so that they are performing duties in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to be flexible with job needs to accommodate changes and other trades.

Physical Requirements:

Typical construction work including climbing ladders, working in high places (such as scaffolding or ladders) climbing stairs, pulling wire, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), operating machinery (man lifts, material lifts, power tools, hand tools, benders, tuggers), bending, stooping, kneeling, sitting, standing, grasping, driving, and typing.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation depends on experience. We have hourly and piece work projects.

Journeyman

Job Summary:

Installing electrical wiring, light fixtures, lighting controls, overseeing apprentices, using tools such as power tools and hand tools
